Dr. Katia Garcia Reinert is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Lifestyle Medicine Professional, passionate about extending Jesus' healing ministry in today's broken world. She currently serves as the Health Ministries associate director for the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist World Headquarters and as an adjunct professor at the Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. In addition, she enjoys volunteering as an internal medicine clinician at Shepherd Clinic in Baltimore, Maryland, where she serves immigrants and other vulnerable populations. Dr. Garcia Reinert holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, focusing on interdisciplinary research on family violence and faith-related protective factors impacting survivors of child abuse. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Andrews University Theological Seminary, with a focus on health and cross-cultural mission. This book is the result of her academic research and practical experience promoting health and healing across diverse communities.
