Dr. Wen Xu is Professor of linguistics, College of International Studies at Southwest University, Chongqing, China, where he lectures on semantics, and cognitive linguistics. His research focuses on cognitive linguistics, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, syntax-semantics interface, and translation studies, and more specifically on metaphor and metonymy, construction grammar, cognitive pragmatics, sociocognitive linguistics, cultural cognitive linguistics, evolutionary linguistics, cognitive translation studies, and holistic education. His publications include The Routledge Handbook of Cognitive Linguistics, COVID-19: Metaphor and Metonymy across Languages and Cultures, The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Cognitive Linguistics (forthcoming), and a large number of academic papers. He is Editor of the journals Cognitive Linguistic Studies and Asian-Pacific Journal of Second and Foreign Language Education, and editorial board members of such journals as Review of Cognitive Linguistics, Language Sciences, Language and Communication, and others. He is President of China Society of Cognitive Translation Studies, and the vice president of China Cognitive Linguistics Association, and China Pragmatics Association. Dr. Xiao Kairong is Professor of translation studies and Dean of College of International Studies at Southwest University. His research focuses on cognitive translation and interpreting studies, cognitive linguistics and translator education. He co-edited two special issues on cognitive translation and interpreting studies, one with Professor Ricardo Munoz Martin at the journal of Linguistica Antverpiensia, New Series: Themes in Translation Studies in 2020, and the other with Professor Sandra L. Halverson at the journal of Cognitive Linguistic Studies in 2021. He has published papers on SSCI, A& HCI, and CSSCI journals, and three monographs on cognitive translation studies. He is currently a deputy director of IATIC (International Association of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition), a member of TREC (Translation, Research, Empiricism, and Cognition) Network, secretary of China Society of Cognitive Translation Studies and associate editor of the journal of Studies in Language, Translation & Cognition.
