The present work is the outcome of a lengthy, painstaking and strenuous, effort undertaken by me. It has been a long-desired need of students of phonetics to have a text which could serve as a unity reference book in schools and colleges. Keeping his requirements in mind, the author has designed and planned this text. It has been designed to help the beginners, general, readers, and the first-generation learners to self- develop adequate skills in mastering the intricacies of phonetics.

Dr.Ali Albashir Mohammed obtained 3 PhDs in Applied Linguistics, Translation, Literature . Ali now works as a university professor at King Khalid University, K.S.A. Also, he published more 52 international papers in ISI, SCOPUS, DOAJ, EBSCO Journals as well as 55 international books and four of them were translated into 8 international languages.
