With the rapid development in digital techniques, internet usage has created a new set of challenging problems such as copyright protection, authentication and content integrity verification of the digital multimedia data (image, audio and video). Over the last few years, watermarking is extensively used as a potential solution to address these problems by embedding additional information (sequence/logo or any copyright information) called watermark into the digital multimedia content. In this book, two hybrid watermarking algorithms are proposed which are based on contourlet transform (CT) and nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) along with singular value decomposition (SVD) for still images and videos. Both the proposed watermarking algorithms are additive and non-blind which requires the presence of original image /video for watermark extraction /detection. Experimental results show that the combination of CT-SVD and NSCT-SVD based hybrid watermarking algorithms provide better imperceptibility and robustness to various attacks.

Dr. C. V. Narasimhulu, obtained Ph.D in ECE from JNTUK, Kakinada-India. He published two Indian-patents. He has published more than 40 research papers in refereed international journals and conferences. He is a reviewer and session chair for several international conferences. He is a member of professional societies namely IETE, ISTE, MIE and IEEE.
