This book will provide the readers with the opportunity to:-Realize the place of curriculum development in language teaching-Explore the philosophies of education in relation to language curriculum and syllabus development-Understand the relationship of the course to other language-related disciplines-Explore approaches and their underlying theories to curriculum development-Design a language syllabus from establishing appropriate course goals and accompanying objectives to identifying language needs and developing instructional materials-Analyze and evaluate existing language courses and syllabuses-Adopt, adapt, and develop teaching materials which respond to specific learner needs within the context of well-sequenced language units-Gain practical experience in developing and evaluating their own language instructional materials
