The Role of Values in Identity Formation of Migrants

Such issues as, theoretical foundations of the study of values and identity of the migrants' personality, the study of the adaptation of migrants' personality in a new ethno-cultural environment, research of the role of values in the structure of identity of the migrants' individuals, are studied in the present work. Migrants living in Azerbaijan took part in the research. Different psychological methodologies are used in order to detect the characteristics of their adaptation to a new culture.

Irana Mammedli, PhD, born in 19.07.1977, Baku, Azerbaijan. Studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of Baku State University and graduated it with honours in 2001. Got her Master's degree in 2003, the thesis was entitled "Transformation of values of the modern youth". Main areas of research are social and ethnical psychology.
