Since vision interacts with brain, an understanding of vision also helps us improve our knowledge about brain. A perfect knowledge of biological vision can also guide us to improve medical treatments of patients suffering from eye related illnesses. This book is useful for students, researchers and academics interested in the structure of biological vision.

Sasan Mahmoodi received PhD Degree from University of Newcastle in 1998. In 1999, he held a Research Fellowship post in Mathematical Analysis of Human Vision in the same university. He joined University of Southampton in 2007 as an assistant Professor. His current research interests are in the modelling of biological vision and medical imaging.
