Bioceramics are ceramic materials specifically designed for use in medicine and dentistry. Bioceramics includes alumina, zirconia, bioactive glass, glass ceramics, coatings and composite, hydroxyapatite and resorbable calcium phosphates and radiotherapy glasses.These materials have been used in variety of medical procedures due to their biocompatibility to either function as human tissues or to resorb and encourage the regeneration of natural tissues.
