The connection between Law and medicine is sometimes forgotten because the method of law is different from the method of medical science. Medical science tries to focus attention on concrete facts while the law appears to before us in a general form. The author aims to bring about conceptual framework of mental illness in the fields of law and medicine, and also to bring about medico-legal implications of insanity and to highlight mental health as a basic human right and its interaction with other human rights.
