Disc rotor type stepper motor is receiving significant attention from industries in the last decade. Stepper motor may be divided into two major groups (1) With permanent magnet (2) Without permanent magnet. From these generally four Stepper motor are used such as variable reluctance stepper motor, permanent magnet stepper motor, hybrid Stepper Motor, and disc rotor type permanent magnet stepper motor. The technology for Disc rotor permanent magnet stepper motor is untouched. This motor offers many advantages such as higher torque at high speed, high torque to weight ratio - as rotor is compact compared to conventional stepper motor, very low moment of inertia - due to disc magnet rotor, high torque to inertia ratio - as inertia is low, low power consumption, no iron structure is there in the rotor and also with Si-Fe lamination in the stator, eddy current losses are minimized. Disc magnet stepper motor are suitable for high performance high volume applications such as computer peripherals, robotics, CNC machine. In this book provide design procedure of " permanent magnet disc rotor stepper motor" with small scale model.

They obtained B.E (Electrical) from South Gujarat University and M.E (Power Apparatus andsystem) from NIRMA University. Nikunj Patel has over 13 years and Keyur Denpiya has 7 years of active teaching experience.
