Zusatztext
The purpose of this paper was to offer one more interpretation to some of John Fowless novels. Starting from a few features of this writers work, we tried to analyze both the evolution of the main feminine characters that appear in the books discussed, as well as the status that they received. However, what shocks us when reading these novels is the writers honesty. It takes a lot of courage to admit, as a male writer in a male dominated society, that it is actually the dominators who need the dominated and not the other way round. It is said that behind a powerful man stands a more powerful woman. Fowles expressed this in his own way: A womans main task is to educate us, to make us see were not fully educated yet.
