Zusatztext

The priority of the medical teams is obviously to provide medical assistance to the victims and to safeguard the interests of the family and society. However, the preservation of traces should also be an important role for medical teams in the initial approach to the crime scene. This preservation of traces extends to the hospital setting, namely the emergency services where, on several occasions, victims arrive without the direct intervention of the out-of-hospital medical teams and who also present traces that will be important for the investigation. In order to obtain a conclusive result from the examination of the place where the violent death occurred and the lifting of the corpse, the preservation of the area to be examined and the items related to the event that occurred (objects, stains, smells, marks) is of utmost importance. The main objective of preserving a place where a crime occurred is to keep the environment as unaltered as possible, i.e., not to move and/or subtract objects from their original position (even if it is a firearm) and not to add elements that were not present at the place.
