Organic agriculture and rural tourism in the North of Montenegro

Montenegro is known as one of the most famous world tourist destination, but northern region is still underdeveloped. Tourism revenues are most often linked to coastal cities in the south. Since the north of Montenegro has all the prerequisites for the development of organic agriculture as well as the magical nature, the author paid attention to the contribution of organic agriculture to the development of rural tourism in the north of Montenegro, highlighting the benefits that local communities can achieve through the combination of these two industries. Beside the additional value to the products, the results of this study showed that organic agriculture will improve rural tourism by contributing to the destination differentiation and creating special niche market. Rural tourism development trough organic agriculture will reduce one of the biggest problem in Montenegro, abandonment of rural areas as well as import of agricultural products. It will increase employment rate and revenue of local population.

Sandra Bojic was born at August 30 in 1994 in Kolasin, Montenegro. She finished primary and high school in Kolasin and in the 2013 she entered the Faculty of political science in the capital, Podgorica. She got a student award for the best student at the Politicology major. In China she god a master degree at the Jangtze University.
