This book is a valuable window of information on wetlands which are recognized as the regions of high biological diversity. Since the inception of Ramsar sites, there has been a wide uproar in the conservation of the wetlands all over the world. Wetlands are often a matter of concern to the manifold ecosystem services rendered by them to the human community. Moreover, it provides a livelihood to millions of people depending on it directly or indirectly. As always, they are regions of a rich biodiversity including diverse fish fauna. However, this rich spot of biodiversity is under severe threat today. The wetlands have been transformed at large to accommodate the intensifying crisis of demand and supply of residential and commercial land.
