Zusatztext

This work details as to how the direct treatment cost of hospitalised treatment tends to get affected by an in-patients private health insurance status. Through his descriptive research conducted across various tertiary-level private hospitals in Delhi, India, the author has shown that the treatment cost is generally higher when an in-patient avails private health insurance than when no such health insurance is availed. Key factors found to be associated with such a cost difference have been highlighted and discussed at length with a view to provide further insight to control such factors. This detailed treatise promises to go a long way in bringing out various facets of the problem in health insurance and guiding further to devise appropriate strategies to reduce treatment costs.
