Job satisfaction is one of important factors affecting the increase in organizational efficiency and employee's performance. This study aimed to evaluate job satisfaction of midwives working in hospitals affiliated with Abadan school of Medical Sciences in 2016. This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on all midwives working in hospitals of Abadan School of Medical Sciences. The results of this study suggest that authorities can take positive and effective steps by promoting occupational security, creating professional standards as well as using professional capabilities of midwives in building appropriate relationship with colleagues and addressing the main causes of low satisfaction within scope of their jobs.

Fariba Khavayet, Born: 1978/07/17, in Abadan, Iran. She has a midwifery degree and a MSc degree in reproductive health from Ahwaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in 2013. Her educational and occupational activity started as a health care provider from 2004 and then as a midwife in the health and delivery centers of Taleghani Hospital.
