Endodontic practice is not risk-free, a variety of technical accidents can complicate root-canal treatment, influencing the prognosis and prejudicing the chances of success. Every treatment carries potential risk versus benefits. A significant complication, leading to extraction of a tooth would be root fracture or an irreparable perforation. Mishaps such as instrument breakage or transportation of the centre of a given root canal can also have a negative impact on the outcome of treatment.
