This book consists of study of Physico-Chemical parameters of shore waters and biodiversity of Khardanda beach of Mumbai, India. Khardanda beach is located on the west coast of Mumbai city. It is unique among Mumbai beaches for the presence of Mangroves and rocky substratum. The Physico- chemical parameters included pH, temperature, DO, BOD, COD, Ammonical nitrogen, Nitrite Nitrogen, Nitrate Nitrogen, Phosphate Phosphorus. The biodiversity of the beach was represented by Algae ( 5 species of Chlorophyta and 5 species of Rhodophyta), Mangroves (3 species), crabs (8 species), Gastropods (52 species from 24 families), Pelecypods (16 species of 11 families), fish (15 species), Birds (14 species). Environmental impact of Anthropological activities in the nearshore environment was also analysed using Questionnaire, construction of Simple matrix and Interactive matrix. Comparison of present work on Physico-Chemical parameters of shore waters and biodiversity with the previous published works was also done and presented in the book.
