This book is a Bible Study text for all Christians of all denominations. The Bible is the Word of God, the Christian Sacred Scriptures,and the common heritage of all Christians. In its over two thousand years history Christianity went through turbulent periods of division and separation, especially during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th and 17th centuries. However, since the beginning of the 20th century Christianity entered a new phase in its history, the Ecumenical phase, a time when Christians are searching for unity, searching to come together again and put behind them the bitterness,of the past. It was this search for unity that led to the birth of the World Council of Churches in 1948, the world-wide umbrella Organization of all Christians who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, himself God, Saviour of the world, Redeemer of mankind, and the only Mediator between God and Man. The Bible, God's Word, which all Christians have in common, and their faith in Jesus, are among the unifying factors bringing all Christians together. It is an inexhaustible source of spiritual nourishment, growth and strength for all Christians, an inexhaustible spiritual gold mine

Born in 1944, Joseph I Omoregbe was educated at Gregorian and Lateran Universities in Rome, and Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He holds 3 doctorates in Philosophy, Religious Studies and Theology. He has taught these disciplines in Universities in Nigeria and Southern Africa. He is currently in Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State.
