The relationship between sustainability consciousness and the willingness of adolescents and young adults to engage in sustainable consumption is complex. The quantitative study shows: Sustainability awareness is high, but does not always lead to corresponding behaviour. A key role is played here by the assessment of self-efficacy. Based on the research findings, the author formulates recommendations for more effective education for sustainable development.
