The books of the talented writer Nikolai Gogol, generously saturated with subtle humor, the plot plexus of unforeseen situations, virtuosic sarcasm, characters whose names have become common, are well known to the readers. On the properties of his talent, Gogol himself said: "It only came out well for me that I was taken from reality, from data known to me." At the same time, the heroes depicted in his books were not just a repetition of reality, they were whole artistic types, with all shades of their characters and manner of behavior. Many of Gogol's works are screened, but the original texts remain irreplaceable.
