Preparations for the Passion Play in Oberammergau start long before most people start thinking about it. Stefan Hageneier creates new plans for the stage and costumes of Passion Play Theater. Markus Zwink starts to rehearse with the choir and orchestra. And director Christian Stückl starts to rewrite the script and thinks about the cast for Jesus, Caiaphas, and the other main characters. This book documents the making of the Passion Play 2022, starting with the first preparations, rehearsals, the postponement due to the Corona Pandemic, and finally, the premiere in May 2022. Sebastian Schulte lives in Oberammergau and also plays a servant of the high priest Caiaphas. He has experienced and captured the entire process of the making of the Passion Play with his camera. His photographs show the perspective from the inside, immersed in the rehearsals, immersed in the play.
