Zusatztext

In this book, Sigrid Metz-Göckel, women's and gender researcher, university didactician and educational researcher, looks back on her life: on her upbringing as a war child surrounded by strong, intelligent women and her resulting trust in the power of networking and solidarity, on her school experience as an outsider and her sociology studies at the Frankfurt Institute, up to her appointment as professor at the TU Dortmund University in the early 1970s. Since then, she has campaigned for a fair redistribution of resources and the advancement of other women. She was one of the founders of women's studies and, as a border-crosser between science and politics, balanced her way through numerous committees and projects - tough in the matter and friendly in contact, in short: rebellious. Her biography culminates in Sigrid Metz-Göckel's legacy, which forms the framework of this story: her foundation "Aufmüpfige Frauen" (defiant women).
