In light of the shift in labour market policies towards the activating paradigm in the last decades, the question arises how citizens perceive these fundamental changes with regard to their social rights. This special issue brings together various empirical contributions in the field of social policy, welfare attitudes and deliberative democracy, addressing this question from different theoretical perspectives and drawing on an innovative research method.
