'New exhibiting' and 'new museology' are terms for an interdisciplinary discussion that critically illuminates the art exhibition, the museum, and curatorial practice. However, on the evidence of the publications, conferences, and new university programs, the disciplines involved can be observed remaining confined within the limits of their own subject. Theory has been removed from practice as has history from the present. This volume exemplarily collects differing views, thus providing the impetus for true interdisciplinarity.
