In days gone by there was a land where the night was always dark and the sky was spread over it like a black cloth. For the moon never rose there and not one star twinkled in the darkness. - This is the opening of the story of The Moon by the Brothers Grimm, set to music by Carl Orff. This picture book, with atmospheric illustrations by Annegret Fuchshuber, reproduces the story as told by the Brothers Grimm, together with the complete libretto. Brief notes on the composer himself and his work are also included.On the CD the story is told by Orffs daughter Godela.
