Zusatztext

The question of how to define talent is just as old and as enduringly relevant as public awareness and political debates about schools and education, learning and teaching. This gives rise to the question of what actually constitutes talent in general, and musical talent in particular, and how it can be recognised. The search for an answer involves discussion of various historical positions and academic disciplines which are concerned with the phenomenon of talent. This offers academics and students, and anyone with an interest in the question of talent an overview of the current state of discussion and research into musical talent, which will help both parents and educators to understand the many aspects of this issue and the current state of knowledge.
