Marie Wollatz was born in Freiberg/Saxony in 1981. She grew up in the former GDR until the age of eight and now lives on the North Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein. She has already written short stories and columns for a youth magazine. Inspired by her own past in the GDR, she wants to make history visible and tangible for children and young people. Her work is characterised by a very affectionate writing style.
