She manages to explore pertinent issues within the historical and cultural setting of the Native American. The relevant matters surveyed include marriage, spiritualism, change, nature, gender, storytelling, resistance, and wisdom incarnate in the elderly Native Americans. The work exposes the social, cultural way of life of the world it is set in. Also, a new historical perspective is given from the eye of the young Pueblo-woman.
