Legal impediments to regional integration in the Great Lakes Region identifies, among others, major root causes of failed integration in this region. It proposes a way out of these impediments and promote sustainable development in this rich region. Many instruments have been introduced in legal structures, however,the lack of political will to dented history condemn the region. Without focusing on legal issues linked to political will, regional integration in this region will remain an empty dream.

Jean Paul Musema has obtained his Master degree in Mercantile and Labor law in 2014. Since then he has worked in different international projects in the field of International relations, Mercantile and labor law. He hold a bachelor of honors in International Relations since 1999. He is currently preparing his PhD thesis in law.
