A New Historicist approach to the short-stories of Alice Munro, analyses selected texts of the Canadian short-story writer, whose stories, appear to have traces of historical representations in them. It introduces the reason as to how New Historicisms brings out the desire to explore the background which happened to be the motivation for the story written; for within it is a mixture of geography, ethnography, mythography, sociology and other human sciences.
