This piece of work is the ideal introductory material for those getting immerse in Building Information Modelling. With a particular focus in the design and construction of transport infrastructure, this research intends to discover the level of implementation of this technique in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, it is essential to unveil the benefits and challenges that this evolved way of working will bring in the near future to the transport industry. This was possible thanks to the collaboration of a number of professionals who are familiar with BIM and were kind enough to be part of this research.

Fernando was born and raised in Durango, Dgo Mexico. He completed the bachelors degree of civil engineering at Durango's Institute of Technology in 2007 and from the very early stages of his career he showed interest in the design and construction of transport infrastructure. Currently, Fernando works in London for a transport consultancy firm.
