Zusatztext

This is the first edition of the book titled In Vitro Propagation of Wormwood (Artemisia Annua l). The idea of publishing the book was conceived acknowledging the fact that food and health securities are distinct challenges facing humanity today. There is also the need to enhance the cultivation of plants by the development of effective protocol using in vitro techniques and facilities which can be installed in any part of the globe. This is expected to bring about increased production of Artemisia and Artemisinin, create job opportunities and increase in the livelihood of small scale growers of Artemisia. Similarly, in vitro propagation is independent of seasonal changes and is a fast method of propagation which produces healthy plant material and requires small space. This will also supplement other efforts made through several studies and will help towards improving health services in many parts of the globe. I urge colleagues and interesting persons to read this book carefully and forward constructive suggestion with the view to improve the quality of its contents. S M Tahir
