Zusatztext
Mosquitoes and the diseases they transmit cause serious public health problems especially in the tropics. Mosquito borne diseases like malaria, dengue, lymphatic filariasis,Japanese encephalitis, chikungunya virus and Zika virus are diseases currently circulating in many countries and have become a global problem. The control of mosquitoes has become more complex due to the changes in their behaviour as well as other factors like globlisation, unplanned urbanisation and deforestation. We now live in a borderless world and thus mosquito borne diseases can easily cause epidemics in any tropical country if control measures are not in place. This book deals with the biology and control of mosquitoes of public health importance especially in Southeast Asia. The challenges faced by public health workers and new paradigms for vector control have been discussed.
