Pioneer study on PETM in Iraq, using Multi-proxy indications (sedimentological, geochemical, stable isotopic, biostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic) to illustrate environmental perturbation in this important period of the geologic history. It represents special and complementary to all local studies on Paleocene to Eocene period because it sheds light on warm climatic anomaly as natural disaster on geological and environmental events.

Ahmed Natheer AL-Fattah is lecturer at Geology Department of Mosul University, Iraq. He graduated from Mosul University in 1999, and earned his Master degree in sedimentology in 2002 and PhD in 2014 from Geology Department of Mosul University. His doctorate work focused on the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM) of northern Iraq.
