Zusatztext
Following the prediction of Krauss (1992), who claimed that as many as 95% of the worlds estimated 6000 languages will be lost in this century, researchers have embarked on an effort to document, catalogue, revitalize and maintain moribund languages. Although much of this had already been done, in the last fifteen years the issue has gained international interest and has resulted in many reports in the popular press on the future of endangered languages. Using the UNESCO Framework Dr. Weisi has investigated the whys and causes of language endangerment among Kurdish Speakers in Iran. Personally,I found this book very interesting and comprehensive.
