Due to anthropogenic pressure and unsustainable development, these fragile ecosystems have become the dump sites of various toxic pollutants like chemical fertilizer residues, heavy metals, pesticides and other xenobiotic agrochemicals. Dr. Sartaj Ahmad Ganie is currently working as Lecturer (Contractual) in Higher Education Department of J&K. He completed his doctorate in Environmental Science from SKUAST-Kashmir. He had also qualified NET in Environmental Science and possesses more than 25 publications in reputed journals. He was awarded with JRF by UGC during his PhD Programme.
