Education is human beings best hope and most effective means in the quest to achieve the fullest and sustainable social, political and economic development. It plays a very significant role in the development and dissemination of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values from generation to generation. Indeed, this fundamental education system should begin starting from preschool age. There is a great consensus among professionals that preschool age is the critical period in the life span of a child. During this period, a foundation of all development is laid for latter stable and successful adult life. In general, the book has incorporated many best practices of early childhood care and education system. These are extracted by compartmentalizing the preschool education system in to educational Input, Process and Output. Thus, it will help to enhance the knowledge, skill and attitude of teachers, parents, childcare workers, policy planers and curriculum developers, governmental and non-governmental organizations which are interested in the education and care of children. Hence, I hope this book will serve the world of children, with a vision of sustainable growth and development.

Daniel, G. Mekonnen MEd: studied his BEd and MEd degrees at Addis Ababa University. Currently, he is working as a lecturer and as a Department Head of Special Needs and Inclusive Education at University of Gondar, Ethiopia.
