The author has presented a detailed examination of Inter-ethnic conflict in Western Kenya. Ethnicity has been a serious problem in Kenya both in terms of political integration and realization of objective economic development among competing ethnic communities. He has observed clearly that ethnic relations have been politicized by successive governments in Kenya with limited objective measures to address its related consequences. A historical approach to this problem which he has recommended is very relevant for solving future problems related to this case because it provides a basis for understanding the historical relations of conflicting communities in their remote past.
