Zusatztext
Allegory to Allegorization: The Development of Shaaban Robert's Prose is a book that traces the development of Shaaban Robert's fiction. Wafula demonstrates that Shaaban Robert's writings oscillate between creating allegory on the one hand and reading allegorically the other. In the latter case, Robert assigns the responsibility of allegorizing to the reader. Moreover, Wafula shows that Shaaban Robert employs allegory and allegorizing according to the exigencies of time. Ultimately in so doing the author of this book shows that Shaaban Robert provides a template for much of the writing and reading of Kiswahili prose fiction from its beginnings to the present.
