This book introduces the reader to two poets from different cultural backgrounds; John Milton, the famous English poet and epic writer and Farouq Gweida,the famous Egyptian Arab poet and writer.Poetry is a universal language,hence the author focuses on the use of imagery in these two eminent poets in two separate research papers. The paper on Milton tackles the controversial issue of the use of extended images in his masterpiece Paradise Lost while the research paper on Farouq Gweida shows how the use of images reveal the poet as a modern romantic poet. Though the topics are different, both show how images talk to reveal much.

The author is currently a lecturer of poetry at Cairo University. She had her Masters Degree and PhD in poetry and the use of imagery in English Romantic poetry. She has studied and taught English poetry for over twenty years. She attended and participated in several conferences and workshops on poetry and comparative literature.
