Notes on Andreï Makine's Novels

This small book is the result of my miraculous encounter with Andrei Makine's novels. Since then, his work has become my second area of interest. This book contains a few topics of discussion out of Makine's novels, such as the obsession of identity and its faces, the changes in the narrative discourse in time and other themes connected to these. The identity issue is by far the most interesting one, because it includes the identity problem the author himself was facing as well.

Crenguta Gânsca is a graduate of the Faculty of Letters, University of Oradea; PhD in Romanian literature with a thesis on Marin Sorescu's literary work, at "Babes-Bolyai" University, Cluj-Napoca; Currently teaching Romanian literature at the University of Oradea, Romania, as a PhD Reader.
