'Georg Ludwig von Maurer (1790-1872). Legislator of Greece': Georg Ludwig von Maurer was the first legislator of the Kingdom of Greece. In less than two years, he created the constitutional and ecclesiastical foundations, as well as a judicial and notarial constitution, criminal and criminal procedure law, and civil procedure law for the new Greek state. Maurer thus ranks among the great European codifiers, especially since his laws remained in force in Greece for a long time.
