'The Principle of Subsidiarity in EU Judicial Practice. An Examination of the Density of Judicial Control of Article 5(3) TEU.': The thesis addresses the question of the justiciability of the subsidiarity principle against the background of the reforms of the Lisbon Treaty. It shows which parameters primary law sets for the legal control of the subsidiarity principle laid down in Article 5(3) TEU and how these are reflected in the case law of the ECJ.

Frederike Fründ studierte Wirtschaftsrecht (LL.B.) und Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität Osnabrück sowie an der Universität zu Köln. Nach dem ersten Staatsexamen arbeitete sie zunächst als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Europäisches Wirtschaftsrecht der Universität zu Köln. 2017 begann sie ein Promotionsstudium an der Universität Hamburg, wo sie als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Öffentliches Recht und Europarecht von Herrn Prof. Dr. Armin Hatje tätig war. Während dieser Zeit absolvierte sie, gefördert durch das Hans von Dohnanyi Stipendienprogramm, einen Forschungsaufenthalt in der Ungarischen Nationalversammlung in Budapest.
