In recent decades, the framework conditions of the relationship between Church and State in the states of Northern, Western and Southern Europe have changed considerably as a result of an increasingly plural society and the decline in the binding and formative power of Christianity. The increasing Europeanisation of state-church law also has an influence on the respective national law. This volume analyses the approaches to solutions in the individual European States of northern, western and southern Europe, and shows development trends for future in-depth studies.
