Biofilms play a significant role in determining the outcome and success of an implant. The inflammatory lesions that develop in the tissues around implants are collectively recognized as peri-implant diseases. Many clinical parameters are useful to evaluate the status of peri-implant mucosa and to diagnose tissue inflammation around implants early. This book call attention to the importance of the maintenance procedures. Personal oral hygiene and periodic professional care remain the actions of choice to prevent periodontal diseases.
