The presence of actinomycetes in this world is, omnipresent. They are an important source for producing biologically active compounds than the other microbes. Many antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antihelminthetic, anti-tumour compounds have been isolated from the actinomycetes. Actinomycetes can be an effective source of drugs with novel chemistry and promising potential. I assure you that this book could help new dimension to gain basic knowledge about actinomycetes. Dr.T.JANAKI The author is a post graduate in Botany and Microbiology, has finished M.Phil,Ph.D & TNSET in Botany. She has rich experience in Microbiology for one and half decades. She has published many articles related to various aspects of Actinomycetes in National and International journals and she was also awarded BEST paper presentation.
