This book included six chapters of the Principals' perceptions and insight into "Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions on School Physical Education (PE). This research project examined the current status of principals' PE perceptions and insight into their schools PE programs from the cities of Shanghai, PRC and New York, USA. All these participants currently are in the position of principal. Moreover, 37 males, 55 females principals from 12 different school districts of Shanghai city; and 23 from elementary schools, seven from middle schools and 16 from high schools (46 in total principals) from 10 school districts of New York City. The instrument used for data collection were: 1) Adapt Principal Perception on PE Questionnaire; 2) Self-Evaluate Scale for School Physical Education Program. Findings included: The principals' PE perceptions were highly positive. The challenges, opportunities and solutions in their school PE programs do exist and reasons behind of these were analyzed and discussed. In brief, this study provides a meaningful example for who interested in this topic, no matter they are graduate students or administrators who want to reform their school PE program.

Howard Z. Zeng is an associate professor at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, USA. His field of study is physical education and sport pedagogy. Over the last 34 years, Dr. Zeng has served as a physical educator and an athletic coach at college/university level and published more than 100 journal articles and scholarly books.
