Zusatztext
This book takes the reader on a journey from the moment that raw wood material enters the factory to the final moment of pellet consumption. It starts with a review on biomass application and its role for the future development of renewable energies. The authors discuss different biomass conversion methods as substitutions for direct utilization of biomass. In the second chapter they focus on densification processes which are comprehensively reviewed in this work, with an emphasis on the pelleting process. Chapter three further expands the pelleting process, including a review of the pellet structure and properties, and the history of this process. The following chapters provide a detailed review on the production process from raw material delivery to final distribution; the chemical and physical quality, measurement methods and standards are presented here. In the final chapters the authors describe in detail the pellet combustion process and emissions.
