Zusatztext
Robert Deinhammer presents an innovative approach to natural law ethics. Important concerns of the Aristotelian-Thomist tradition are combined with contemporary philosophical insights, with critical rationalism playing a central role. In doing so, essential objections can be refuted and the potential of such an ethics can be demonstrated. The relationship between morality and Christian faith is also clarified. As a result, it is shown that despite the insurmountable human fallibility and limitations, a reality-based ethics is feasible, which enables us to take a critical-rational standpoint towards conventional morality and to evaluate and improve it with the help of objective normative criteria. In this way, a rapprochement about disputed moral validity claims becomes possible, even across cultural and ideological boundaries.
